Service Description

Join us on Saturday, September 2, starting at 10am, for a day of aerials, tie dye, hiking, special guests, and delicious food! The morning will begin at the gym with a quick check in for students to pick up their new Camp Honey T-shirts. Our first aerial event is double sling aerial class! Two hammocks will be rigged to the same hanging point for partner duos and tricks. Next, the group will field trip to the Avon Land Trust. Erica will guide you through a 1.5 mile loop and discuss the importance of native plant species in our food web, demonstrate the effect of invasive nonnative plants in our forests, and give some basic plant ID hacks. Post hike, we will return to the gym for an immersive lunch hour with food and Gastronomy meditation provided by our special guest Zamoura Mayo. Zamoura was the lead instructor at a vegan culinary institution in California and met Erica back in 2014 during their YTT in Kerala, India. After lunch, we'll tie dye your new honey camp shirts! Please specify your size when booking so we can get your order in. Our last aerial event is a two hour duos spiral workshop led by Erica and Kimberly Davis. Kim is an avid student, both at home with her lyra, and at the gym with us! Kim not only has a talent for finding new pathways to poses, but she can verbalize the mechanics of her movement and talk you through the transitions. You and your partner will be in excellent hands. What to bring for the hike: Please plan for all weather, pack a rain jacket, hat, long pants for the hike, tall socks, hiking boots, backpack for personal water bottles, !!bug spray!!, etc. Aerialists will be briefed quickly on poison ivy and tick safety. Your safety is 100% your own responsibility. We are not responsible for poison ivy rashes, tick bites, or any other insect bites/stings, burns, abrasions, sprains, or any other ailments you might experience from the hiking portion of the day camp. The level of difficulty on the hike is easy to somewhat moderate. There may be some muddy, flooded, and/or rocky areas on the trails. Please be prepared with proper footwear and expect to go off the trail at times. Please note: Lunch and dessert will be provided. Please pack your own snacks if to snack throughout the day! Please bring your own water on the hike and to aerial classes.
